Physical Therapy

At Physio+, we are the movement experts, employing a diverse range of techniques to rehabilitate injured athletes. With an intricate understanding of the human musculoskeletal system, we employ a holistic approach to restore optimal function. By integrating various methods such as dry needling, adjustments, soft tissue manipulation, and targeted exercises, we provide comprehensive care that addresses both the underlying causes and symptoms of injuries. We assess movement patterns, identify impairments, and design personalized treatment plans tailored to each athlete's needs. We are in the business of enabling athletes to regain strength, mobility, and confidence on their path to recovery.

Individualized Exercise Programs

The same injuries can have different root causes. Athletes will be given specific exercises and movements that is based on their deficits in mobility, strength, mechanics, motor control, and muscle activation. Exercises will also be functional and specific to the athlete's sport and position in order to prevent future injury and improve performance

Acupuncture/Dry needling

Acupuncture and Dry Needling is an effective tool to reduce pain, improve blood flow, and promote tissue healing so that injured athletes can progress quicker in their exercise programming and recovery. It is the use of fine needles to target nerves, muscles, tendons, and joints for pain relief and improve performance.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)

IASTM is the use of medical grade tools like Graston to massage and work muscles and soft tissues in a way your hands and fingers cannot. IASTM plays a large role in relieving tight muscles and breaking down scar tissue after surgery.

Chiropractic Adjustments

Adjustments can help restore mobility of joints and reduce pain which primes and resets your nervous system for improved muscle activation and movement. This allows for higher quality and pain free movement in order to develop the "mind muscle connection" for proper movement for exercise and sport.

Cupping

Cupping is the use of plastic cups to create negative pressure or "suctioning" of tissues. This allows for increased blood follow to promote healing as well as breaking up muscle fascial adhesions and scar tissue.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy incorporates varied hands on techniques to restore joint and soft tissue mobility and flexibility, reduce pain, and decrease swelling. Techniques include soft tissue mobilization, massage, joint mobilization, stretching, and manual traction.
